Crawling Out of My Skin

Orly releases their spring collection this month. apparently, ONLY TO EUROPE! i have been waiting for what seems like ever to get my hands on this collection. im in love with all the colours.

colour names:
You’re Blushing - Muted Lilac Crème
Prelude to a Kiss - Pastel Pink Crème
Jealous, Much? - Pastel Mint
Faint of Heart - Soft Grey Crème
Steel Your Heart - Charcoal Shimmer
Artificial Sweetener - Dusty Rose Shimmer

my favorite one out of the collection is Artificial Sweetener. there seems to be a light shimmer to it, and totally reminds me of sweet and low (which i actually dont use, i use splenda, but the colour is perfect!).

i also very much want Steel Your Heart and Jealous, Much? although honestly, i think i may be buying the whole collection. <333

so, orly, if you are reading this...PLEASE RELEASE NAO! i have so many plans for my nails.

A-England: princess tears

today i got in some new nailpolishes. and two of them were A-England brand. i swatched one. it is called "princess tears". the color of this is a silver lilac with holo glitter. while i do like the color, i am unsure about it on me. either way, the formula was quite thin IMHO. i needed three coats for it to show up.

i couldnt really get shots of the holo glow. but trust me, its there. (accent finger was HITS Dionislo).

i bought it on Llarowe's site for 12$ + shipping.

a day late and a buck short, but atleast i got it!

i just want to write first at how much i LOVE rite aid. i mean really, what other store would let you buy polishes, try them and then take them back when you realize that you either hate them or you have 4 others just like it. :) so, i was there yesterday, returning about 8 polishes and replacing them with new ones. these are what i got:

those last ones...yah...they are EXACT dupes of Deborah Lippmann polishes. now, i know i know you already know this. and yes, revlon is kinda scummy for doing something like this. i mean, really revlon? exact copies?! well, be that as it may, i still bought them. why, because times are tough and i sure as hell cant afford a 25$ bottle of polish when i can buy a 5$ one that is exactly the same. (and yes, i shop at walmart too!). :P

so anyway, this is what i did with them:

i used sally hansen's "blue-away" as a base for the revlon whimsical. i love it. although, it is more...easter-y than i wished for. the formula was actually quite good though, the only thing was that you have to know about how much glitter you have on the polish otherwise you might not get any, but i hear the same about "glitter in the air" too.
then i accented my fingers with sally hansen's "pacific blue" and coated on a good layer of "glass slipper".

now, on to glass slipper. i was never going to buy this colour. to be honest, it really didnt excite me much. it just looked like milky crap in a pretty bottle. and then, after i bought "black tie" from the same collection, i definitely wasnt going to buy it. (that is a whole 'nother post). but, i kept readying people absolutely loving it, so...i bought it. and im glad i did. it is SO pretty. it really is. perfect little flakies that make it look like it snowed on my fingers. it applied quite nicely with one thick coat. im loving it. so...go buy it. :P

all in all, a good haul i think.

Bootie Babe Polish

so, today i am here to talk about my new discovery "Bootie Babe". i found these little guys on ebay a while back for uber cheap. (they are not currently there any more). they came in a set of three and im pretty sure i purchased them for about 4 or 5$ for all three. i honestly was a tad worried about how cheap they were, but when i saw the cute bottle i just HAD to get them. they are in the shape of butts!

the shipping was quite fast but i through them in my polish drawer and kinda forgot about them. i figured while the colours looked great, they would probably be sheer and ugly on the nail. well, last night for shits and giggles i decided to put one of the colours on. i used "hella baloo". (as seen above and totally stolen from their FB page). now, because i am a fairly negative person i am going to start with the cons of this polish. the brush handle. while i understand they were trying to not take away from the look of the "butt bottle", it is VERY difficult to grip for opening and feels quite awkward in the hand while painting. but that is my only complaint. the formula on this polish is wonderful. not too thin, not too thick, Goldilocks!

the colour in the bottle looks like an electric blue, but once you put it on it is completely different, and in a good way. it is a nice opaque cream that is almost like a dusty turquoise. i am so very much in love with this colour. (in this mani, i also added a touch of Essie's "shine of our times" and accented with Orly's "winter wonderland" and made the heart with Orly's "Fancy Fuchsia" and my sinful colours nail art pen in red).

so all in all, i highly suggest buying these polishes. you can pick them up on their site (and they accept PAY PAL! YAY!) for 4$ a bottle.

Sinful Colors guilty pleasures

i cannot understand why people dislike sinful colors. they complain about the formula being too water-y, they complain about how see through it is, always complaining. well, i am here to NOT complain about sinful colors. as a matter of fact, i like them a lot. i just did a mani with sinful colors "envy" and i think it might actually be one of my new favorite colours on my nails. it is a beautiful dusty jungle green cream and it flowed beautifully onto my nails. with only two coats i got it nice and opaque. you know what the best part about these colours are, they are only 1.99$ at rite aid. i picked up about 12 the other day when they were doing a BOGO at buy one get one 1/2 off. awesome.

isnt it so pretty. it is actually more grey-esque IRL, but i suppose you can get the main idea. so, go to your local rite aid and pick this colour up, and like 20 other colours too while you are at it (including "lets talk" which might actually be one of my favorite purples).

Cuz the world needs another blog about nails right??

so obviously the world needs another nail polish blog. i mean, there are only like a million of them. why the heck not. well, here goes it. now there is a million and one. on my blog you will find the same boring reviews and swatches, maybe some DIY for you nail art lovers and of course, any and all info that i can find about new lines and collections. but there will be one little difference. see, my name is cara crass. and it fits quite well. i mean, im kinda a :B-word:. so why not. my plan is to give you my real thoughts on whatever polishes i try, not some watered down pansy wansy :meh: comments as some blogs have. so- here goes- my first post.

i am a big fan of sally hansen for OH SO MANY reasons. one, it is sold at rite aid, and im from a very small town and this is about all i have access to. two, there are a large variety of colours, and as you will find out in the future i LOVE colour. three, they are cheap- and in this day and age who doesnt like that? and four, usually the formula is wonderful.

well here is my review on this colour/collection. i bought a couple of the sally hansen "salon manicure" bottles because i liked the colours. they are a bit more expensive (10.50$ instead of about 5$) but i figured, what the heck. well, last night i used this colour. its called "pat on the black". it is a very deep purple which actually reminds me a bit of OPIs "linkin park after dark". now, i do LOVE this colour. and how could you not. the almost black with just a hint of grape juice colouring. unfortunately, i hate everything else about it. the brush is short, thick and stiff. and the formula is very thick and hard to work with. i got a glob at the beginning which spread out thin real quick and completely uneven. it took three coats to achieve the photo above, and while i am in love with the end results, it wasnt worth the 10$ and there are other brands that are very similar.
